Click one any of the following links and find out a little bit more about us and the band
Pretty much right from the start our aim has been to build up a tidy little set list and do some gigs in the Cambridgeshire area, bringing pleasure and an unpleasant ringing in the ears to the unsuspecting punter.
Thoughts of global domination and becoming a serious money making machine haven't exactly been a priority for us simply because we don't have the looks or the cool haircuts. Instead it's been the opportunity to play in the odd pub and make someone's foot tap that has been enough for us to keep on practising twice a week every week for the last couple of years.
It's taken a while, but it seems we're almost ready to take the stabilisers
of our bikes and start riding around like proper adults. Some gigs are in
the bag, a little CD has been put together and this website has been finally
sorted out. So hopefully our hard work will start to pay off
fingers
crossed!
· Allen Kong (guitar and vocals)
Al is our founding father and the man responsible for bringing this whole sorry mess together in the first place. He has been playing guitar since he was in the womb (probably) and all attempts to surgically remove it from his hands have been aborted. As a result he's is pretty handy when it comes to knocking out a tune, and can deliver a blistering solo as easily as blinking. Rarely have eight fingers, two thumbs and six strings seemed to go so well together.
· Jeff Hedges (drums)
Second only to Jeff's drumming ability is his amazing gift for farting on cue and telling rude stories. Therefore Jeff is, thankfully, your "Typical Rock Drummer" and as a result is likely to do one of the following at some point in the future:
a) Throw his sticks into the crowd at the end of the gig
b) Drink himself into an early grave (see also Mr Moon and Mr Bonham)
.probably.
It's pretty fair to say that Jeff's approach to drumming is not the most academic
or studious at times, but as he knows full well all that is required in a
bloody good drummer is to hit the skins f**king hard, with a lot of heart!
· Ben Meadows (Bass)
Ben starting playing bass when the band started, and some would
say it (sadly) still shows! To be fair though he tries to do something vaguely
interesting when necessary, even though he doesn't know where the "E"
note is. Ben is the perfect bass player because he is a lanky git and can
look suitably sullen when required. Ben's main aspiration is to ditch the
second-hand Washburn guitar he's had since the band started and up-grade to
a Fender, so that even though he still can't play for shit he'll look pretty
cool trying.
· Paul Oakley (various bits and pieces)
Paul is our honouree fourth member, and gets a mention
because he's a bloody nice bloke and has helped us out loads. Paul has let
us descend on his house for several hours at a time and record our CD and
he is also now responsible for making us sound good at gigs by doing our sound
(the opportunity to knock back a few beers in the process probably has nothing
to do with it). Paul also has to be commended for the following: having very
long Rock God hair, wearing t-shirts without sleeves, being able to criticise
us in incredibly subtle ways and having a fantastic 80's RAWK album collection.
The Seventh Star, Cambridge - March 2nd
Linton Village Hall, Linton - April
The Haymakers, Cambridge - May 10th
We must add a pat on the back to the ever so kind landlords who've been kind enough to let us play. Ta chaps
