Phantasy Star was released in Japan in 1987 on the Master System, and was later released on the Mega Drive in 1994. Key staff included Kotaro Hayashida, Chieko Aoki, Rieko Kodama and Yuji Naka.

Phantasy Star Gaiden was released in Japan in 1992 on SEGA's new handheld machine; the Game Gear. Gaiden never made a release in the US or Europe.

Phantasy Star Gaiden was released in Japan in 1992. This was the second and much awaited instalment of the series on Game gear.

Phantasy Star: TEOTM was released on the Mega Drive in Japan in 1993, and then in 1994 it was released in the US and Europe. Key staff included Reiko Kodama, Tooru Yoshida, Akinori Nishiyama and Kiyoshi Ippo.

Phantasy Star Collection was released only released in Japan on the Sega Saturn in 1998. This was Phantasy Stars one and only outing on the doomed Sega Saturn.

This was a slightly updated version of the pervious game. New weapons, armour and items, but the game was practically the same. Oh, and your character could go up to level 200 in this one.
