SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: JUDO NATIONALS MEDAL WINNERS!
To all those who went to the nationals: Well done to Ilze, Andy C, Fabrice, Katerina & Sensei Richard for winning medals in the competitions.
NEWSFLASH!!!!
It's that time of year again when we need to get in the annual club membership, university and jitsu insurance fees - here's a breakdown as provided by our beloved Nikki:
| Membership for the year is 3 quid- please bring in a passport sized photo of yourself when you pay up, as we have some swanky new membership cards, designed by our beloved Phillip (OOOhh!) |
| This year, the insurance for students is 5 quid, and for non students, 20 quid. |
| Membership to the BJJA (Jitsu insurance) renewal is 11 quid and 13 quid for newcomers (ask for a form from one of the committee). |
ORDERING YOUR GI
While we're on the subject of money... Ordering your Gi is dead simple. Speak to Joe (ask around most people will know him - tall and loud :-), or e-mail him. Sizes are Small, Medium and Large, the sizes aren't as self evident as they seem, so the safest way to pick the right size for yourself is to simply ask a fellow jitsuka if you can try theirs on! No one will mind you asking. Prices vary from around £20-£28 (about £5 of that will be refunded to you by the club) depending on size; Joe will have more details. Delivery will take about one week. As soon as we get a price update it will be posted - watch this space.

We are hoping to organise a First Aid course soon for everyone in the Club - very very important and useful - we will let you know as soon as we do.

Stick around to finish off the term in true jitsu style... Offer: two games with shoe hire, basket meal (Chicken / Burger / Fish + chips) and a drink (even alcoholic!), best and worst bowler certificates, and score print-outs. Cost is £12 per head. Bowling will commence at 9pm (ish) (to allow glow bowling - neon pins and balls in the dark!), so we could meet at the Wolfenden at 7pm and give lifts to those who need them! YOU HAVE TO LET US KNOW NO LATER THAN TODAY IF YOU"RE PLANNING TO COME ALONG - LANES WILL BE BOOKED TONIGHT (21/3/01). |
