RCT has a Carers Support Group. There are also specialist groups that provide support for carers who look after people with specific problems such as stroke, heart or diabetic conditions.

HOW CAN THE CARERS SUPPORT GROUP HELP ME?

They have produced a file to help carers called The Carers Pack. The file covers many issues such as how to apply for benefits, dealing with legal matters and housing. They also produce a newspaper which keeps carers up to date with new ideas and help that is available. All the information in The Carers Pack can be found in libraries and it is available on audio cassette and in big print. The pack contains many contact numbers that may be useful to you.
