Taken on as a member of staff as the IT manager of Amadeus Capital Partners . Recruited an assistant - Michael Brass, and gradually he picked up the more routine, and then the rather less routine work as the year wore through. A very successful year working through most of the major difficulties in the IT department.
During the latter part of the year, was working 4 days a week with Amadeus and doing 1 day per week mathematics. Main project in late 2005 was the design of a high-performance meataxe interface that could utilize the speed of the L2 cache effectively by breaking down matrices into pieces of an appropriate size.
Attended the Nikolaus Conference in Aachen in December and presented a seminar on this subject.
