Text from rear cover:

Taped before a studio audience Tuesday April 28, 1964. The Beatles participated
In only two of the show's main Items: their music set and a humerous spoof of the
Interlude section of A Midsummer Nights Dream. Apart from this John, Paul and George
were seen miming a trumpet fanfare, while Ringo was seen hoisting the title flag and
setting off a cannon ball. The finished 60 minute production was aired Wed 6 May
(9:45-10:45) and repeated, In slightly edited form, on Mon June 8 (6:08-7:00 pm)
This disc contains the edited version as a composite of 16mm film and videotape.
The first 33 minutes are from the film, and the rest, The Beatles music set
are from video tape.

Although the acts In Around The Beatles would give the appearence of a live perfomance,
In that they would not be miming to records, they would, In fact, be miming to a pre-taped
soundtrack. This soundtrack was recorded at the IBC recording studio In London on
Sun April 19. Glyn Johns was the second engineer/Tape operator.

The Beatles performed complete versions of Twist & Shout, Roll Over Beethoven, I Wanna Be
Your Man, Long Tall Sall and Can't Buy Me Love. They also performed a medley of the
following tunes: Love Me Do, Please Please Me, From Me To You, She Loves You, and
I Want To Hold Your Hand. They finished with a version of Shout.
