The Late Eighties Saw The Debut Of A Brand New Bootleg Label Which Shocked Many Fans And
Collectors World-wide. It Was The Year Of 1988 That The Swingin' Pig Released Their First
Bootleg CD, This Was The First Of A Six Volume Set, The Beatles 'Ultra Rare Trax'. These
Bootlegs Had Gone Way Beyond What All Other Releases Had To Offer In The Past, Studio
Quality Outtakes, Demos And Alternate Versions Lifted From The Master Tapes.
It's Only A Theory, But An Interesting One At That. Also In 1988 Mark Lewisohn Was Sifting
Through The EMI Archives For Research On His Book, 'The Beatles Recording Sessions'
(Hamlyn Books). He Had Access To Hundreds Of Hours Of Beatles Outtakes, And It Is Believed
That Some Of The Tracks That Appeared On The 'Pig' Label, Leaked Out Of EMI Due To Dishonest
Tape Operators.

Not Only Did The 'Pig' Release Stuff Just On The Beatles, But Various Other Artists Such As
The Stones, Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, The Doors, And Jimi Hendrix To Name A Few. These Were
Also Of Great Content, With Outtakes, BBC And Live Recordings. After A Few Years CD's On
'The Swingin' Pig' Label Faded Out. Probably Overcome With The Competition Of Other New
Labels Circulating At The Time. But Still The 'Pig' Did Release Some Memorable Bootleg CD's,
Some Still As Exciting To Listen To As They Were Over Ten Years Ago.
