Riley 9 Merlin. (1935-37)

As the Monaco moved upmarket, it was enevitable that Riley would launch a model to fit under it, in order to win back sales.
This model was the Merlin, launched in 1935, in 1936 it was a mere £30 cheaper, but that was never-the-less 10% cheaper.

A new body, looking more like a falcon was used, along with the mechanics from the Monaco.
The car was withdrawn in 1937, to be replaced by the Victor - Rileys last desperate struggle to increase sales.
