Riseley 2000 group

For several editions of the News Letter, we have let it be known that the above group will be organising a celebration to mark the Queen's golden jubilee on Monday the 3rd June. A It is I intention to make this a day to remember for all residents and their extended family and friends. It is the group's intention that the whole day should be free of charge to you all.

In order to achieve this, we need to raise a good deal of money. When we are guided Father Christmas around the village, you generously gave us £508.63.

We also made her a successful application to Beds County Council and were awarded £200 and further applications are awaiting attention. But we hope to receive your full and generous support to fraught the auction. As always, we are fully supported by the parish council and all is now set for all wonderful day ( all we have yet to organise is a beautiful sunny day! )

Our intention has always been to try and follow the format of the Silver Jubilee celebrations in 1977 and there's you will see from the preliminary programme, we had stayed fairly faithful to it. We shall, of course, be decorating the public areas in use on the day but hope all residents will enter into the spirit of the occasion by decorating their homes, or at the very least, flying the Union flag. Each house will receive a commemorative programme of the full details of the day's events, in due course.
