Riseley
Parish Senior Citizens
Christmas Lunch 2001.
12th December soon
rolled round again
- time to enjoy
a Christmas lunch
with old friends
and meet new
friends. The
cheery glass to
warm us all was
served on arrival.
Soon the sound
of chatter filled
the village hall.
Everyone pulled
crackers together and
party hats were
put on,
while joke ( from
the crackers) were
exchanged. A
three-course Christmas lunch
was served,
then if you
hadn't had enough,
round came the
mince pies! - made
by Jane's fair
hand
A pleasant
surprise, as
Father Christmas arrived,
handing presence to
all -( sometimes
receiving a
kiss back), with the
aid of his
helper, Carol.
By this time,
Renee of the
yellow marigolds,
Alison, Maureen
and Geraldine of
the tea-towels were
on their 48th
tea-towel each!
What to a
crew - Thanks ladies!
There's more...
Christmas cake,
donated by Mr
and Mrs Bernard
Hancock ( thank you),
was served with
tea.
Taxis arrived
- time to go
home. Thank
you Bernard, Gayle
and Maureen ( postie)
for the taxis.
My thanks also
to all the
helpers, supporters,
sponsors and etc.
- as without
their help this
wonderful day would
not be possible.
Many thanks also
to Peggy,
Pauline, Katie,
Carol, a
Pat S,
Pat R, Clifford,
Jane and Bernard
. Waiters and
waitresses extraordinaire!
Happy New
Year to all
the Riseley residents.
