February 6th 2004 : RTH931S, an open-topper which had become surplus to requirements at Bath was noted at Plymouth depot in late January and is now 1022 in this fleet and is expected to operate in Cornwall this summer. Its First national fleetnumber is not yet known.

January 11th 2004: Unfortunately 1203 only lasted a couple of weeks before its head gasket went. This is now being fixed. 1132 and 1226 have been reallocated from St Austell to Camborne, while 1228 has been rescued from the Bude storage yard with a view to restoring to service, although it is now likely to be used for spares instead

November 19th 2003: 1203 has finally emerged at Plymouth in Barbie 2 livery after a five month repaint!!

November 2nd 2003: 1201 has been withdrawn following an accident at Witsands Cliff

October 8th 2003: Despite officially being withdrawn 1262 is still pounding the streets of Plymouth - good news!!

October 1st 2003: Several withdrawals effective from today, most notable being 1262 from Plymouth. However, 1265 has now returned to Plymouth after a brief visit to Cornwall last week. 

September 20th 2003: 1265 also now noted in Cornwall having been reallocated from Plymouth

September 13th 2003: Both 1227 and 1228 have been noted operating in Cornwall this week, presumably both having been reallocated from Plymouth

September 9th 2003: 1131 is now withdrawn and being used for spares at Plymouth

August 8th 2003: 1155 has been reallocated from Plymouth to St Austell in exchange for Olympian 1751

August 1st 2003: 1252 is now reported at Penzance, although it has "not for service" stickers in the windscreen

July 28th 2003: 1128 has been rescued from the Bude storage area and is reinstated. It was noted on the 301 Penzance to Newquay service on July 25th.

July 15th 2003: GBF78N has turned up at Penzance depot and is for use on open-top services in Cornwall, supporting the two existing Atlanteans (boo!). It has been numbered 1021, is to be signwritten before entering service and has spent the last month at Plymouth. As if that wasn't enough convertible open-top 1003 has returned from repaint in overall livery celebrating 150 years of the Great Western Railway.

June 9th 2003: 1258 is reportedly being used for spares at Plymouth. 1117 may be withdrawn following expiry of its MoT.

June 3rd 2003: Further reinstatements (from reserve) are 1132 and 1226 at St Austell. Others may be about to follow. In addition First Potteries open-top Series 2 GBF78N is reported on its way down to "Devon and Cornwall" following refurbishment and repaint. Reports very much welcomed on what is to become of this one!!

May 31st 2003: It turns out that 1116 is now in service at St Austell and that 1117 is the one that has gone to Plymouth. Both were previously in reserve. Still no news on any withdrawn examples at Plymouth.

May 27th 2003: Reports that 1116 has moved to Plymouth

May 20th 2003: Since the mass withdrawals and the storage of many delicensed vehicles at Bude during April there have been some interesting occurrences. Three VRs have now been extracted from storage and two have made their way to Plymouth. These are 1227, 1258 and 1252 (not yet reported in Plymouth). It is likely that these are to replace some of the more unsatisfactory examples there.
