Ruth Marian (Bee) Wilson in Leesburg, Florida at 21:31:49 Monday December 1 97
I was born in Akron Ohio Sept 20 1928. My maiden name was Ruth Bee and my father was Earl Bee son of Oliver Perry and Emmaline (Keirn) Bee of Burnside Twp., Clearfield County , PA. I would love to hear from anyone who may be related to me. My cousin,a few times removed, Debbie Campbell, put me on to this site and I am eternally grateful.

It is really great hearing from someone who is so enthusiastic about the page. Sorry for not contacting you sooner but I have been very busy the last couple of months and have not had time to keep up to date.

A lot of people from Florida contact this page !

Very sincere wishes,

Roger Bee, January 1998.

Judith Bee in Berwick, New Jersey, USA at 20:56:55 Saturday November 22 97
I have been collecting some of my geneological data. Perhaps it will connect me with some other Bee. Father: Clifford Merle Bee; Born in Keene, New Hampshire, USA Grandfather: Fernando Cortez Bee; Birthplace unknown, but possibly West Virginia Great-Grandfather: Asa Bee, Jr.; Birthplace unknown, possibly Salem, New Jersey, USA Great-Great-Grandfather: Asa Bee; Birthplace unknown. Moved from Salem, New Jersey to West Virginia after the War Between the States.

Thanks for the information you have added to the page - every bit counts !
Kind regards,

Roger Bee, January 1998.

Steve Peters in Pt. Charlotte, Florida USA at 1:40:9 Thursday November 6 97
Roger, My ancestors were Bees from the states of New Jersy and W.Virginia. The earliest one appears in New Jersy about 1700. It is said that they were from London. I have a lot of information on the family and would love to hear from others. In the late 1800's the Bee family of W.Virginia said that they were descendants of Abraham through the tribe of Ephraim. Have you ever heard of this from any other lines of the family??? The Bee family were very religious people, but would only worship on the Sabbath. Many of their descendant still do. After reading the comments from the other members of the Bee family I was surprised to see the mention of the MacBees. In the 1800's in a little village that the Bee family pioneered in WVa there was only one club or fraterity. It was called the Maccabees. Thank you for your page. I truly enjoyed it. ...Steve Peters of Pt. Charlotte, FL...

I am glad you have enjoyed the page and I have been of some service. Sorry for not having replied sooner but I have been very occupied over the last couple of months and the page has not been kept up to date !

I am not so sure the Bee family are so religious over here at the moment !

Best wishes,

Roger Bee, January 1998.

Andy Bee in West Hallam, Derbyshire, England. at 14:27:4 Sunday October 26 97
Hi, im a Computer Graphics artist, working in Heanor Derbyshire(UK), for a computer games firm. I was born at Rushgreen hospital in Dagenham(1972), Essex. My parents live in Plymouth. They are Richard Bee(Ex Royal Marine) and Valerie Bee(shop assistant) and I have two brothers, David Bee(manager) and Stuart Bee(art student). I'll try to find out where my immediate family were born(with dates) and let you know. I am also interested in my family history so if you can let me know of anything interesting, I'll appreciate it. It's weird how there seem to be 3 or 4 graphic artists mentioned on this page, I guess the Bee familys are a creative lot.

Thanks Andy for commenting in this guestbook. Apologies for not replying sooner but I have been very busy the last couple of months and have not had time to keep replies up to date !

You are not very far from Burntwood in Staffordshire. This is very close to Lichfield !

I was brought up in Exeter in Devon and my mother still lives there - not very far from Lympstone which as I remember (correct me if I'm wrong) was/is the Royal Marines main base.

I have a cousin, Stuart Bee, who is a "tree surgeon" and lives in Reading, Berkshire.

Best wishes, Roger Bee, January 1998.

Barbara Wissell in Acton Massachusetts USA at 15:38:26 Wednesday September 17 97
Hi, my maiden name is Barbara Elizabeth Bee. I work as a Principal Hardware Engineer at Digital Equipment Corporation in Maynard Massachusetts USA. I was born in Cambridge Massachusetts in 1954 and graduated from Harvard University in 1976. I received my MSEE from Boston University in 1985. My father was Richard Lawrence Bee, only son of Lester Bee who died at the age of 25. Lester was the oldest of 6 children born to Melville Bee. They lived in Cambridge Massachusetts. Melville was from Lynn Massachusetts. Supposedly his family originated from Scotland. Melville had 3 sons, Lester, Bobby & Melville jr, and 3 daughters, Marion, Ruth, & Evelyn. Melville Jr is said to have owned a glass factory in Connecticut and had several children. I know little beyond this. I have been very curious about our family history. It is very nice to find this site!

Thanks Barbara for entering a comment into this guestbook. I have been very busy recently and have not had time to reply to comments and keep the page up to date. My wife, Gaynor (Tweed) was born in Cambridge, England in 1951 ! I went to University in Oxford and graduated in June 1972.

If you look at my family page I have a daughter, Emma, born in 1978 but I also have a son, James, born in 1976.

Pleae keep in contact, many kind regards,
Roger Bee, January 1998.

Raymond David BEE in Dallas, Texas, USA at 12:47:15 Thursday April 24 97
Dear Roger, liked the flying bees on your home page. My family came from the Scottish side of the group (at least I like drinking Scotch). I have a son, Jason, who is 24 and a graphic artist; and a daughter, Allison, who is attending college. My father's family came from Pulaski, Tennessee in the USA and we still have many relatives in that area. I've travelled extensively in my 50 years and have always looked in the phone books of the cities I have visited for the 'BEE' name. There are many 'Bees' in the USA, some white, some black and some American Indian. I suppose it's a common name derived from beekeepers years ago. I suspect that the Bee name is somewhat common in Spanish, India, China and Japan too, but I don't know how they would spell or pronounce their word for 'bee'. All the best to you and your entire worldwide 'family'. David Bee Dallas, Texas, USA

Robert Douglas Bee in Omaha, Nebraska, USA at 0:52:14 Tuesday April 1 97
Dear Roger, I love your web page and it is a real treat to find some Bees. I am an Episcopal priest and a hospital chaplain. I am married with three daughters. My wife is a medical technologist and is currently working in a physician's office. We live in Omaha, Nebraska. Our state is in the middle of the U.S. and a little north of center. Omaha is the largest city and is situated on the east end of the state on the Missouri River. We visited England four years ago and toured some Anglican colleges at London, Glouster, Chester, Lincoln, York and Canterbury. It was a wonderful trip. During that time, we also went to Norfolk where my Bees originated. My great-great grandfather was Samuel Bee who married Jane Baker 15 Aug 1843. He was the youngest of eight children. His parents were James William Bee and Esther Pulham who were married in Haddiscoe, Norfolk 25 Mar 1794. Haddiscoe is near Beccles next to the Suffolk border. My ancestor was a Mormon convert and his family disowned him; so I have had no luck in finding any of his brothers and sisters. They were Anne, 5 Aug 1796, James 6 Dec 1798, Mary 23 Jan 1801, John 6 May 1803, Esther 7 Dec 1811, George 4 Apr 1814, Robert, 8 Aug 1815 and my Samuel 13 Jul 1819. Anne through John were born in Haddiscoe and the rest in Aldeby, just down the road. Best wishes, Bob Bee

George James Bee in 15 Oakwood Ave. N., Mississauga, Ont., Canada L5G 3L6 at 5:33:4 Tuesday March 11 97
Hello. I live in Mississauga, just west of Toronto, Canada. My grandparents (George and May Bee) immigrated to Canada from Kent, England about 1921 or 1923. They had been married in England. My grandfather had one brother who also immigrated to Canada. His name was Oliver and he lived in Montreal. He had no children. I am an only child of George Hugh Bee and Margaret Bee. I have two sons, Cisco (21) and Casey (18). I'd like to trace my family back a little farther than my grandparents, but so far I have not had the time to investigate. If anyone named Bee had relatives from Kent, please let me know. I know there is a John Bee living in Windsor, Ontario, Canada -- but I have never contacted him. Keep up the page, Roger. And if I find any other Bees in Canada, I'll let you know.

Pleased that you have entered a comment George. I'll look out for "Bees" in Kent. I know my Uncle Ken lived in Kent in the 1970's but did not originate from there !

Talk to me about it !
Thanks for entering a comment.

I had no idea there were so many bees out there.....I don't know much about the lineage except we think it was either Mcbee or Macbee or something. Roger Bee sent my dad a letter and I thought it was interesting so I replied.... I am 18 years old and a freshman at Villanova University in PA.

Thanks for the entry Elizabeth. My daughter Emma Bee, 18 years old, would love to hear from you !

Wade Bee in Orlando, FL at 14:52:19 Sunday March 2 97
Thanks for inviting me to your home on the web. Your site is very interesting. I am extremely surprised to find European roots to the Bee name. My Bee name comes from the the Cherokee Indians of Utah, USA. My great grandfather was Gern Bee, 100% cherokee, my grandfather was George Bee (50%) who died several years ago (he also was heavy into HAM radio which I noticed you like) and my father(25% cherokee) who is Terry Bee and living in Washington state. My grandmother is Betty Bee and I have an aunt named Tamara Litwiller also uncles Scott and Ken, all living in Washington state. I will bookmark this site and check back soon. I've heard there are geneological sites on the web which trace lineage but I've yet to visit one. Thanks again for your invitation and best wishes...

I am amazed at the Cherokee Indian connections ! I thought the name was totally European in origin.
Thanks Wade !
Regards
Roger Bee

Wow there are more Bee's in the world! I'm Melissa Bee. I'm 17 years old. I don't know much about my family tree except my father is David Merle Bee, my sister is Cherish Bee McCallum, and my Grandfather was Clifford Bee. I know our roots are in Englan and Germany. We think our name comes from Macabee, though we aren't sure. I'm so glad you contacted me! My direct family of Bee's is very small and it's wonderful to know I may have other relatives out there, especially in England, home to many of my favourite bands (pulp, suede, the smiths, etc.) I'll be back to this page often!

Your e-mail was a nice surprise! I like the "Bee hive"! I am a 22-year old student at Oregon State University studying Psychology and Women Studies. The name "Bee" in my family has been passed down through Irish descent. We think it maybe used to be "McBee".

Randy Bee in Phoenix, Arizona, United States at 8:59:56 Saturday February 8 97
Who know's, my family immigrated to the United States from Scotland. I am 37 years old, have 4 children, Brittany age 10, Tiffany age 8, Jessica age 5, and Randall age 2. I will get out the family history and find my ancestor's name who originally came over to the States. The rest of my family is in Utah, and Colorado, in the United States. Great page. It is now book marked so the rest of my family can find it.

I have copied the entry below to the Family Guest Book because I am sure it is of interest to "Bees" everywhere.
Roger.

Goh Bee Lian in Singapore at 5:36:48 Saturday February 8 97
Thanks for taking the trouble to email me, Roger. This is another page to add to the links to my homepage, with its "bee" theme. My surname is Goh, Bee Lian is my "first" name. But the traditional Chinese way is to have the surname before the "first" name. I'm writing this in the non-Bee guest book for a reason. First an explanation of my name: "Bee" means "beautiful" and "Lian" means "lotus" in Fujian dialect. It is usual for Chinese parents to name girl babies with words signifying beauty, prettiness, daintiness, gentleness, etc, etc (versus boys whose names include words like courage, strength, power, etc, etc). So if all the Chinese people in the world with a "bee" in their name were to sign your family guest book, you would need l-o-t-s of space. I think your homepage is fun. Will check it once in a while to see how your family tree is growing. Bee

Michael Bee in Gardena, California, USA at 1:56:54 Saturday February 8 97
I really like your page, don't know if we are related. I'm african american and I'm unable to trace my ancestry beyond my great grandfather but it nice to know you took the time to stop by my page and E-mail me. Thanks again, who knows, maybe I will be able to trace my ancestry back to your family.

Kimberly Bee in Goucher College; Baltimore, Maryland, USA at 23:56:18 Friday February 7 97
My name is Kimberly Louise Bee. My father is Edward Allen Bee and my mother is Susan Eva Bee. My father's parents are Harry and Susan Bee. Beyond that, I don't know much about the family tree. Technically, I myself am a Bee in name only, for Edward is technically my stepfather, who adopted me when he married my mother when I was 5. He is the only father I know though, so I am interested in his heritage, especially for the sake of my stepsister Stacey Bee-Brown and my little sister Kelly Bee, who are both Edward's natural daughters. I myself am 21 years old, and am in my fourth year of college. My major is International and Intercultural Studies.

Tamsin Curnow in Birmingham University Library at 13:6:42 Monday January 20 97
Hello - just felt I should leave a quick comment - as you can see my name is Tamsin, and I am Ken and Joan Bee's grand-daughter. I met Emma when I was in Reading and she was there looking at universities, and she told me about your homepage, so I thought I'd better check it out! (I'm very impressed by the way). See you!

The entry below was copied from our GENERAL GUEST BOOK. It was written before this FAMILY GUEST BOOK was constructed.

Neil Bee in Peterborough at 22:58:42 Saturday November 30 96
Hi Roger, I had to have a look really didn't I ? I'll have to mention this page to my mother and brother, they're the only "net" Bees I know.

As the authors of this page we would like to welcome comments and details from anyone around the world who has the family name BEE or is related to anybody with that name.

Over the years it would be great to build up a "directory" of the BEE family.

Best wishes !
