St. Georges Day Activities - Sunday 27th April

Summer Camp 2008 - Saturday 26th July to Saturday 2nd August in South Wales.

 

 

Previous Activities

District Challenge Hike - 8th March 2008. This was a test of navigation and speed around a 10 mile circular course from Glenny Wood. The aim for each team was to navigate their way around 10 contol points as quickly as possible. The 77th entered two twams, who finished joint second and fifth. Well done to all who took part. Results.

Winter Camp 2008 - 11th - 13th January 2008. We took 14 Scouts to the annual Gilwell Park Winter Camp. Very muddy - again!

Summer Camp 2007 - Youlbury, Oxfordshire. 28th July - 3rd August. In 2007 we held a joint camp with the Cubs, but the Scouts were still responsible for all their own cooking, and maintaining their Patrol area. Activities included a off road cycling, a day hike, climbing, swimming and air rifle shooting

Ton of Fun Centenary Camp - Woodhouse Park, 25th - 28th May 2006.

St. Georges Day Promise Renewal Service - Sunday 22nd April. The 2006 event was for all Avon County, and was held in Victoria Park in Bath. We had the service in the morning, and after lunch took part in lots of activities.

Summer Camp 2006 - 26th July - 2nd August. Camp returned to Pullabrook Farm near Bovey Tracey. Dartmoor is never short of activities, and the scouts tried kayaking, climbing, caving and mountain biking, as well as camping in a true greenfield environment. Some Scouts made and slept in their own bivouaks.

St. Georges Day Promise Renewal Service - Sunday 22nd April at Bristol Cathedral. It was a joint service for the Brunel and Cabot Districts, and the Cathedral was packed to overflowing.

Expedition Challenge - 25th/26th March. Six Scouts completed this challenge over a very wet weekent, hiking from the village of Stanton Prior, to an overnight camp at the Cleeve Hill Scout Camp, then on to the end point near Wick.

The Quest - 4th February 2006. Incident hike in the Chiltern Hills. A huge event - 65 teams, 12 miles to hike and 16 activity bases to complete, mostly in the dark! Well done to the 77th Bristol team for a fine effort. Results Here.

Winter Camp - Gilwell Park, 6th - 8th January 2006.

Fire Station Visit - The Cubs and Scouts visited the Temple Fire Station over two Friday evenings in November 2005.

District Day Hike 2005 - Burrington Combe. Results.

Summer Camp 2005 - Camp was held over seven days in the Brecon Beacons, in the shadow of Fan Y Big. Lots of rain!

Shore Trophy 2005 - This year the competition was held over one weekend, with activity bases and a night hike. We Won! Congratulations to the Cubs and Scouts who showed great teamwork.

County Patrol Camping Weekend - Woodhouse Park, 8th - 10th October 2004.

Summer Camp 2004 - Camp was held on Dartmoor in July. We camped in a farmer's field at Lustleigh, near Bovey Tracey. Pics & Reports
