It took place near the end of march 2004 in the night-time. We set off at about 7pm from Woodhouse Park.

This was a district hike with teams made of scouts, cubs and a leader shadowing.

It was an incident hike which means at every one of the 4 checkpoints we had to do a challenge wich was very exciting.

The hike itself was about 5 miles long and most of it was in the dark of night.

The challenges we had to do were based on Lord of the Rings.

For the first challenge we had to throw a grappling hook over a pole, lightly related to LOTR.

The next challenge was a touchy feely challenge were we had to feel different types of food while we were blindfolded.

Our next challenge was a little different, infact it was a lot different, it wasn't even based on LOTR, because dozey Roland made a mistake.

Our last challenge was the best. We had to make a tower out of cups 6 levels high in a pyramid style on the uneven field ground and with the wind rushing by.

We got back to Woodhouse Park at about 12pm. The cubs got to sleep in Woodhouse Park and us scouts had to sleep in tents we had pitched earlier.

It was a highly thrilling experience and I suggest anyone who has the chance should definately do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our small fat leaders!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
