Story 8

God blesses Noah

9 Then God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and cover the Earth. 2 A fear, even a terror, of humans will come across all living things that are upon the Earth, upon the flying creatures, upon wildlife and upon living things in the sea. Under your authority they now come. 3 Every living thing may serve as food for you, but as in the case of vegetation, I do give it all to you.”

Law on souls and consuming blood

4 “But flesh with its soul – its blood – you shall not eat! 5 Besides this the blood of all your souls I shall ask back, from the hand of man and from the hand of his fellow man I shall ask back the soul of man. 6 Anyone killing his fellow man, by man shall his own blood be shed. 7 And as for you men, may you be fruitful and multiply and swarm across the Earth and subdue it.”

The promise of the Rainbow

8 God went on to say to Noah and his sons, 9 “As for me I’m establishing a promise with you and your offspring, 10 with every living soul, among flying creatures, among wildlife and all the living creatures, which were with you and which came out of the Ark to every living thing upon the Earth.”

11 “Yes, I do establish this law with you. No more will I kill off all flesh by a flood and no more will a deluge of water occur on the Earth to bring it to ruin.”

12 And God continued, “This is the sign of my promise that I’, making between me and man, for generations to time indefinite. A rainbow I do put in the clouds, and it must serve as a sign of my law, which is between me and you and every living soul among all flesh and so no more shall water become a deluge to kill on living things. 16 The rainbow I do put in the clouds, and I shall see it and to time indefinite I shall remember my promise that stands between me and every living soul upon the Earth.”

17 And God repeated to Noah, “This is the sign of my promise that I have established between me and all living souls upon the Earth.”

So, the flood occurred and now God promised never to let it happen again and he put a Rainbow in the sky as a sign of his promise. Now man was free again from the evil he brought on himself. So, now things could start again. Do you think this would last? Look around you today and observe the badness. Do you see what is going on?
