CARE BREAKS
A limited fund exists to relieve full-time carers by
providing short term care for people of working age with
physical and/or sensory disabilities. If you normally
live at home and receive the higher rate care component
of the Disability Living Allowance, you should be
eligible. Ring the NHS
Independent Living Service nearest to your home.
CROSSROADS LTD
Can arrange for trained care assistants to come and look
after a person who is frail, ill or disabled within their
own home, for a few hours, daytime or evening. This
enables the carer to have some time off for necessary
shopping, appointments or social/leisure activities.
