Sean's character, Deacon Sharp, has never actually been seen on the show or even mentioned by name, but he does have ties to a story that's been going on for over a year. Deacon, who is described in Soap Opera Digest as a bad-boy Hollywood night club owner, is the father of Eric Forrester III, who is actually not a Forrester at all. Last year, Amber Moore was in a dilemma because she was carrying a child who could have been fathered by two men, one of whom was her husband Eric Forrester Jr, aka Rick (a teenage member of the wealthy Forrester family who had only married her thinking he was the father). Keeping Rick in the dark, Amber ran home to her mother in Death Valley and got reacquainted with her family, including her cousin Becky. Becky was pregnant by an man who had run off after she became pregnant. When Amber's baby was born, it was in fact Rick's, but it was also stillborn, so Amber's mother convinced Amber to substitute Becky's baby (which Becky was giving up for adoption), without her knowledge, for her own. Eventually, Becky found out and reclaimed her child; even though Rick hated Amber for tricking him, he had come to love the boy as his son, but he admitted the baby belonged with his real mother. However, Becky soon after developed pancreatic cancer and, just after marrying Rick's best friend CJ Garrison, she died. Since then, Rick and CJ have been competing for the hand of Amber and the right to raise Eric III. The battle between them is reaching a fever pitch, and into this mix comes Deacon, who is the man who got Becky pregnant and the baby's true father.
