New B&B star Sean Kanan and his bad boy character aim to make life a misery for the Forresters

Deacon Sharp is no altar boy. In fact,the newest citizen in The Bold and the Beautiful has more of the sociopath in him than he has social graces.

"Deacon's not a real good guy," agrees his portrayer Sean Kanan.

"He's sort of a mercenary,predator guy. In the show,he's the boyfriend of a woman who is a waitress in the bar he runs...and we know he's at least emotionally abusive towards her."

Sean would probably like to find something nice to say about his alter ego. The trouble is,he can't.

"Deacon's a guy who does what he has to do to survive," he says.

"He's a pretty reprehensible individual. Its not like he's a bad boy with a heart of gold...he's pretty bad through and through.

In other words,Deacon is the sort of character that an actor would sell their soul to play!"

"Its fun," Sean says. "The scenes i've been in so far in the US have always been written to my advantage. It's very dramatic for Deacon

to leave anyone else in chaos."

As long time soap fans would know,Sean is no newcomer having had roles in General Hospital and Sunset Beach.

And since Sunset was cancelled last year?

"Well, last August, I finished a feature film called 'March',which my production company did," he says.

" I played a very straitlaced insurance salesman. The film has similarities to American Beauty."

For all the satisfaction of producing, Sean's not about to give up performing. " I enjoy acting more," he admits, " but, as a producer

you're really involved. My partner and I had control over everything,

from picking wardrobe to locations, Actors often have little control

over what they do."

" I hadn't intended on returning to daytime, but my manager asked

me to meet B&B producer,Brad Bell, who changed my mind," he

says. "This is the best role i've had in ages."

In opting for Sean as Deacon, B&B know thay have a tallented actor

capable of stirring things up for the Forrester family.

"Deacon is a dicey, a rattlesnake," Sean smiles. "This guy is nobody i'd want to know!"
