Sir,
In the Telegraph Magazine of 28 July is an article about an American couple whose daughter was murdered by a group of the people she was trying to help in post-apartheid South Africa, but who have since formed a close and constructive friendship with two of the murderers who were troubled in conscience and prepared to be reconciled. To quote,
"People say the Biehls are extraordinary. How do they do it? Are they religious? 'We're not Bible people,' says Linda. 'We're ethics people.' Peter adds, 'I hate evangelism, particularly religious evangelism. It's a total shutdown to us-' "

How have we managed to drive away people like this from the Gospel that we preach but they actually live?

Peter Wilson.
