CELTIC WIN DIVISION 1 TITLE

SESL Division 1 has been won by CELTIC.  Holding off a tough challenge from MOT and COW, manager Mark Findlay lead CEL to a triumph title victory.

"I'm absolutely ecstatically over the moon about winning the SESL Div 1 title" said CEL boss Mark Findlay today.
"Marvellous achievement, fantastic by the players. It's been a long hard season, well, around 5-6 extraordinary weeks for me. But I would like to magnificently thank the previous manager (Martin O'Neil?) who put Celtic into a superb and extraordinary position, which I shockingly managed to lose within a couple of weeks of taking over!"
"The magnificent thing about that, is that having lost that gargantuan lead, it was then down to me alone to turn it around, which I am delighted, and overjoyed that I managed to do."
CEL boss continued to heap praise on his extraordinarily brilliant players, saying  "Obviously by having a fantastically gifted squad helped, and ofcourse Shaun Maloney's superhuman goal ratio which I'm delighted have given the 3/31 FW a supremely well-earned joint golden boot award for SESL Div 1."

"The last couple of weeks I have been looking over my shoulder at MOT and COW with the lead changing hands, and a touch of shocking controversy also!
"But I wholeheartidly look forward to season 10, as probably the top 3 superb sides will be challenging again.  I am sure there are other teams hovering around ready to clamour for success (ALB, HAM, BEL?). That will be the real test, toiling hard to retain the title over the next season.
"Now CEL turn our attentions to the SESL Cup where a double Cup and League win would be unique in SESL would it not?" claimed Mr Findlay.

Div 2 is won by DUMBARTON

DEE, FOR & ROS will join DUM in Div 1 in season 10, but spare a thought for KIL who just missed out on promotion.

Dumbarton took the Division Two title after winning 19 of their 30 league matches, and also ended the season as the league leading scorers having scored 68 goals.

To top of a good season, 3/25 MA Jacques Villeneuve and 2/29 FW Jean-Marc Bosman both netted 17 goals to become joint runners up in the individual scoring charts.

"I am absolutely ecstatic to finish the season as Section Two champions", said Dumbarton manager Martin Fallon after the 4-0 victory over Alloa in the last game of the season.

"Last year, when I took over as manager, we were second to bottom of the league and the club was in real danger of dropping into Section Three, but we managed to retain our place in Section Two and I knew then how good the team was."

"Many people thought that I was mad at the start of the season when I stuck my neck out and said that Dumbarton would win the league, but here I am with a glass of Champagne in one hand and a trophy in the other."

"I have to give credit to both Forfar and Dundee who pushed us hard this season, and I wish them the best of luck next season as they join us in the top flight.

"The season is not over yet though and celebrations will be put on hold. We are in the last 16 of the SESL Cup, and are going to do our utmost to become the first Section Two side to win the cup, and the first side to complete a league and cup double."

Div 3 is won by BERWICK

Won 17, Drew 6, Lost 7 - that was the stats that saw Div 3 won by BERWICK.
Manager Steve Wright had to fight had for the title with EST, QOS, and GRE breathing down his neck, while INV almost sneaked in and grabbed to title in a thrilling league finale.
Jermaine Defoe 3 28 FW was key man for BER and hit the onion bag 17 times.

GOLDEN BOOT CONTENDER AT ALBION

Alon Atie's ALBION look to have secured a top 6 finish and therefore UEFA qualification, and much of that success is down to Chris McGroarty
The ALB 2/32 MA player has bagged 21 goals already this season.
