07/02/2002 iSilo 3.1 beta1 is now available. Updates include Autoscroll: This scrolls the content at any of ten possible speeds and Hardware button configuration which allows you to assign buttons (including the Jog Dial) to specific functions.

07/02/2002 Hokusai2 is a paint program made by the people who developed Custom Player. It works at up to 256 colours, can save to Memory Stick and has Jog Dial support- well worth a look.

07/02/2002 If you want to create customer skins for your MP3 enabled Clie then take a look at Custom Player v1.00. It lets you create skins using a Windows client and you can store these skins on a Memory Stick to save space. Details here.

06/02/2002 If you are interested in what is happening at PalmSource 2002 PDABuzz are running daily news updates. The news so far includes information re Palm OS 5.0, Bluetooth hardware and lots of new software releases.

06/02/2002 The Palm Tipsheet is a free monthly newsletter for all Palm users- it provides practical tips and relevant news and is available in email, HTML and Palm Doc formats. You don't even have to make an effort to get it as they will gladly send you it via email each month.

06/02/2002 Clie World's game of the month has been updated to version 1.0a. Taktik now has a 160x160 16 levels grayscale mode ( Handera 330 supported ) and support for different languages, starting with an improved English version ( a lot of mistakes have been corrected ) and a French one. Click the link at the bottom of the left panel to download it.

06/02/2002 PalmInfoCenter have an article and some pictures detailing a prototype Sony are working on- it's a clamshell device which can swivel which allows it to take various shapes- the full article is here.

05/02/2002 Seeing as no-one has come forward with a flip cover solution yet I have emailed Parallel Design to ask if they have any plans to make their covers Clie compatible- one of these would solve a lot of problems- particularly for 760/770 owners so the more people that request Clie covers the more likely we will get one.

05/02/2002 Time 2.0 is a digital clock application which supports hi-res and world time. A handy calendar view is included and the weekday repeat alarms are easy to set up. Time can be shown by 24-hour or am/pm format and the week or/and day number can be optionally shown. Get it here.

05/02/2002 If like me you owned a Psion and played the fantastically addictive Milles Bournes here is a game called Rally1000 for the Palm OS- it's not hi-res but the graphics are good and most importantly the gameplay is wonderful (it's free as well from here)

05/02/2002 RonDo is a novel application launcher which uses the Jog Dial as a means to access your favourite programs- worth a look here.

04/02/2002 Megasoft2000 have released a new game- Callisto. It's not hi-res but the graphics are excellent and it's VERY addictive- reminds me of Bejeweled with slightly different gameplay. Now all they have to do is release their hi-res version of Billiards and I will be a happy man.

04/02/2002 LaunchThis! has been released- it allows you to prevent the Launcher from automatically starting when a card is inserted and also allows you to prevent cards from automatically executing programs on insertion- you can download it here.

04/02/2002 Photgather is a new image viewer and browser for the Palm OS- it supports the Clie's 320x320 hi-res screen and will allow you to view JPG, GIF, BMP, PCX, TIFF and TGA formats directly- it costs $9 to register and is available here.

04/02/2002 Designsbybert.com have released an upgrade for registered users to their excellent IconDeluxe set for Action Names- it now contains 206 icons and new ones include Computer Monitor - Penguin (Linux) - Baby Stroller - Meeting - Wine and Glass - Stetoscope - Plane Departure - Plane Arrival - Basket Ball Player/ Soccer Player - Soccer Ball - Bomb - Push Pin. Apparently the next upgrade which is iminent will hold 250 icons- the ones contained so far look fantastic on a Clie and it's only $5 to register.

04/02/2002 Pidirect II has been released by PIT Ltd- updated features include (New) File Manager added which allows user to manage files between the device and the mounted folder on external card, Panel UI updated, "PiDirect Manual" and "Quick Start Guide" updated and the file limit for unregistered users reduces from 20 files to 10 files

03/02/2002 Own a 760/770 Clie and having trouble with your flip cover? If you have found a way either to secure it properly or have made an alternative please let me know so that I can post your experience here (and hopefully get mine sorted!)

03/03/2002 If you are interested in having a printed record of Palm/Clie related events have a look at PalmUser. It's a bi-monthly magazine dedicated to all things Palm and includes good quality reviews, readers letters, tutorials and many other items. I have subscribed to this magazine for the past 3 years (previously PalmTop Magazine) and it has got better with time. It costs £24 for the year within the UK and you receive a free CD Rom containing 100's of Palm apps and games.

03/02/2002 The UK Prices page has been added (see left panel) which shows all of the best deals sent in by Clie World's visitors- hopefully it will help you save some money. Keep the emails coming- we pay a lot more for PDA technology and accessories in Britain and need all of the help we can get.

03/02/2002 nXt's Yahoo Group has got a demo of Zap2016 available for the t615 which takes advantage of the machine's improved sound capabilities. I have tried it on an N770CU and the sound is a LOT better! Here's the file.

02/02/2002 Acid Image has been released by Red Mercury- it can display GIF, JPEG, BMP, PGP and MGI format pictures from the Memory Stick. You can zoom from 1% to 1600% (see above) and it is very quick. It's also hi-res which is to be expected from Red Mercury.
