13/02/2002 One of the few PDA related magazines available from your newsagent in the UK is PDA Essentials which has just released it's second issue. It comes with a CD containing over 350 PDA programs and on the whole is a very interesting read apart from the odd minor error such as the new Handspring Visor Pro being fitted with a 16-bit backlit colour monochrome screen? More details here. Out of interest, anyone know what happened to the magazine Mobile Computer User? |

13/02/2002 Here's a game really worth looking at- 9 Ball Pinball. Comment from developer- 9-Ball Pinball with its excellent graphics, sound and super fluid animation, represents over 2000 hours of development effort and is undoubtedly the most realistic pinball simulation available for the PalmOS. I agree- very very good fun. Get it here. |

13/02/2002 My son Tom (above) kindly decided to test the durability of the Clies by throwing mine down the stairs this morning. It travelled down 21 stairs and landed on the wooden floor at the bottom. Result- not a scratch and a perfectly working N770CU- no doubt this was partly down to luck but it is a testament to the build quality of the unit. Bless him! |

12/02/2002 Purple Software have been around for a long time supplying software to the PDA industry- they produced some of the early Psion software including Chess, Yacht etc. and have now, fortunately, ported a lot of their original software over to the Palm platform including Chess, Backgammon, Checkers etc.- have a browse around their site for more information. |

12/02/2002 Here's a very British game- it's called WordsPlus and is a version of that 'only watch when you are off work sick' TV gameshow Countdown. It's lo-res but features the words and numbers games plus the final conundrum. Well worth a look. |

11/02/2002 Punk has done yet another review- this time for Acid Image which is now on the Software Reviews page. Red Mercury have offered a free registration to this excellent image viewer for the best review done by Friday 15th February- Acid Image can display JPEGs, GIFs, Windows' BMPs, Sony's PGPs, MGI Photosuite Mobile format, and even their own, Red-Mercury's, formats which can all be accessed from the Memory Stick. So, do you want Punk to win all of the prizes? Perhaps it's time to have a go at reviewing yourself and get this excellent program free. Hopefully I will be able to run a competition each week if developers are willing. |

Then simply transfer to your PDA (Palm, Pocket PC or Psion) and take your information with you! How? TOMERAIDIT recursively parses directories, stripping out redundant tags from HTML files - reformatting them to create an output file is easily imported into Tomeraider. 09/02/2002 Here's a good lo-res game from LudiGames called Saturn Strike. The graphics are excellent, you only get 1 life per game which makes it a real challenge but the gameplay is very addictive and it only costs $5. Download it here. |

09/02/2002 If you are after Clie Paint nXT's Yahoo Group has a copy ready for you to download. They also have Picture Gear 2.1 which allows you to edit photographs and images already held on your Clie. This program is great fun and well worth a download. |

It's currently Clie World's 'App of the month' and includes the following new features:- TODO's/Call Alarms can now be incremented in one minute increments. One-handed dialing of contact's phone number for all PDA-Phones. Added ability to colorize categories other than default to do categories business, personal, and unfilled. Icons added for incoming|outgoing|missed mobile phone calls in Contact History. Expanded mode in Contact List view allowing you to see all of your contact's information. Made Contact on first line only feature always on when in multiline mode. Added Tap and Hold to display the time on the title. There are also a ton of bug fixes to boot- this program is near perfect (in my opinion) |
