19/02/2002 Iobox.com have released their versions of two classic arcade games- Defender and Robotron. They cost $14.99 each, are lo-res at the moment but look and play good and are available here. |

19/02/2002 The quite superb (and free!) Metro has been updated to version 3.7.0. This updates give the program the following new features- Improved networks: Dublin, Grenoble, Kyoto/ Osaka / Kobe (joined in 1 database), London (including WAGN lines in extended version), Madrid (end of works), Mexico, New-York (WTC station reopened), Paris (extended & tourist), Singapore, Tokyo, Washington/Baltimore (including a "tourist" version), Wien / Vienna. You probably don't care but Métro is now compatible with the future PalmOS 5 (checked by the PalmOS team), Support for multi-expansion card devices (Handera): the program finds its files on all the available cards, Small bugs correction. It also has Jog Dial support to allow for 'one-hand operation'- available at PalmGear. |

19/02/2002 I phoned Mico Anvika today to see when they would have the T425 and T625 in stock. Their current brochure includes these models and they are expecting them on Friday 22nd. They have 4 shops in Tottenham Court Road and 1 in Croydon and also deal via mail order and the Internet. If you want more information call them on 0208 2560160. |

19/02/2002 AudioBooksForFree.com is a site that offers free audio books (obviously). They are in MP3 format so you can play them if you own an MP3 enabled Clie and there are a lot of catagories to choose from including Science Fiction, Classics, Adventure etc. etc.. Here's the link. |

It's specifications are as follows- Size:[86.0 / 59.0 ] 24.0 mm Weight: 44g Correspondence OS:Palm OS 3.3-4.0 System requirements : Windows 98, 2000, Me and NT4.0, Mac OS 8.5-9.1 Power consumption: At the time of use 3V, less than 2mA At the time of /sleep 3.5V, 0.3microA. Suspect it may be while before we see it in the UK but it sure looks good. |

18/02/2002 ImageStation is a Japanese site holding original artwork created with Clie Paint (see article from 09/02/2002). The entire site is in Japanese but the pictures speak for themselves- if you have created a masterpiece on your Clie send it in and I will glady decorate the site. |

18/02/2002 Here's a nice program which gives me a quick diversion when waiting for a train- it's called Plex and is a Rubiks Cube emulator- it's smooth, colourful and does a surprisingly good job of re-creating the original brick in your hand- it costs only $5 and you can download it from PalmGear. |

17/02/2002 zed2art from SPUG sent me details about a fix he has found for loose Clie styluses. I have seen comments on various forums re styluses falling out and getting lost- somehow zed2art discovered that there is a part inside a standard disposable cigarette lighter that will fix the problem forever. Pure genius! Details here. |

17/02/2002 Here's a game that takes absolutely no advantage of the Clie's higher spec features but is just so much fun! It's called TVGames and is designed to emulate the very first games from the late 1970's that plugged into your TV. If you are as old as me and remember the original you will be surprised at how close this game is to it. It's available here. |

16/02/2002 Well done to Punk (again!) who wins the prize of a free reg code for Red Mercury's superb Acid Image. To be fair his competition was not much seeing as he was the only person to send in a review but then again why work for it when the program only costs $10 at the moment. I don't rave about many programs but this one is definately work looking at.Here's Punk's review.There will be another free registration code available for a different program next week. |

16/02/2002 Insight now have available a 3 pack of Clie styluses for £14.09 + postage. Not cheap but you are ordering from within the UK and they are the only place I have seen so far that has them in stock. |

Improvements include * Huge Sound Quality Improvement! * Many updates, more programs now work * Real-time clock (used in some games) now emulated * Special "trick" to speed up certain games (Donkey Kong Land 3, Joust, etc.)- it's available here. |

15/02/2002 Thought it was about time I gave Paul Ellams a mention- he has made some superb software for Palm powered machines such as Lottery Checker which covers the UK Lottery plus the ThunderBall game etc. and Air Hockey 3D which is a blast! Details here- no hi-res support yet but who knows what the future holds. |

14/02/2002 Here's the current situation re the t625 availability in the UK:-Dabs.com- 1-2 days (£316.07)- time frames have been changing over the last week. The T425 is 'overdue' and £193.87Amazon.co.uk- 4-6 weeks dispatch (£329.99)- thanks to palmist500 on the forum.PC World- my local branch advised they will have stock on Friday 15th Feb- I'm not convinced!Expansys.co.uk- no listing yet for the t625 or 425. |

14/02/2002 If you are having trouble finding screen protectors for your Clie I'm not surprised- it's near impossible to find them in the Uk. One solution is to pop along to your local Staples and purchase a pack of Belkin screen overlays for the Palm VII, III- they are a bit big but you only need to cut about 4mm from top and side to have a perfectly fitting overlay- they work well and give good visibility. |
