06/06/2002 I received some very good news today from Arthur Asloyan of Megasoft2000:-"I think that the new version of Billiards will work not only with Hi-Res but also with Hi-Res+""The Megalauncher program will also support Hi-Res+. Besides that we have almost completed the special program that allows you to create skins, icons and colour background. ""I can't tell you the exact date but I can assure you that it is very soon." more details

06/06/2002 QuickOffice has been updated to version 6.0 which provides support for VFS and Hi-Res+ and also includes a new QO Desktop program- nice! Thanks to Derrick Boom for the email. more details

06/06/2002 I discovered Maporama today- it's a web site which allows you to enter a location or the locations you are travelling from and to. Once you have done this a map is displayed and/or a step by step road which you can then send to a Palm powered device via AvantGo. Very good idea which works really well. more details

06/06/2002 I mentioned TapPad yesterday which continues to impress me and you will be pleased to hear that the developers have released an official virtual graffiti skin for use on the NR70's more details

06/06/2002 A new game has been released called GravityBall. This is a simple and interesting game which aim is to run the falling ball through the labyrinth to its exit for the next level. The labyrinths are arranged in three levels of difficulty - easy, normal and hard. Started playing it at lunchtime (30 minutes later still playing it!) more details

05/06/2002 Interesting article at PDABuzz today- Sony announced today their plans to release a new Memory Stick format next month, the Memory Stick Duo. Memory Stick Duo cards are about one third the size of normal Memory Sticks. On a similar subject Clie Source have a thread going that talks about the possibillity of 256MB, 512MB, 1GB Memory Sticks (Magic Gates) this year more details

05/06/2002 I have been looking at an application called TapPad which gives you a number pad, cut/paste icons and a very useful one button launch of some infrequently used punctuation permanently on your graffiti area. Up to now you have had to stick an overlay onto your PDA to use it but now, with the help of an excellent NR graffiti skin submitted to Jalbrant .com you can use it virtually- it works very well and looks stunning. 04/06/2002 Kickoo have asked me to add the following announcement (glad to!):-"Kickoo, makers of high quality games for Palm OS devices, is looking for partnerships with PUGs ! We have put a page on our site displaying all the PUGs that are already partnering with Kickoo : http://www.kickoo.com/?page=pug and what we mean by partnership ( mainly having free licences of our products during the PUG's meetings ). We hope that this page will make more PUG co-ordinators coming to us. It's also possible that some users find with this page that there is a local PUG near them, or that they want to setup one ( the offical worldwide coordinator site is mentioned : http://www.interpug.com ). So we think it's a common interrest ( for us, the PUGs and the users ) to talk about it, as it may make more Palm related companies do the same and offer their products to PUGs too ( which is already the case, as we are not the firsts to do that ). Thanks to the PUGs which are already partnering with us, and to the ones that will come soon!"

03/06/2002 Still no official response from iambic re their removal of Bert Austin's icons for Action Names from their site. Hopefully I will receive a response tomorrow and we will take it from there. Email me if you have any more information.

03/06/2002 The Targus Thumbpad will be £42 ($61.28) and should be availoable from the Clie World Store later today- it's compatible with PEG-S300, PEG-S320, PEG-S500C, PEG-N600C, PEG-N610C, PEG-N700C (Palm OS v3.3 and 3.5) and PEG-N710C, PEG-N760C. The NR70V has also been reduced in price to £435.00

02/06/2002 Strange happenings? designsbybert's link on the iambic site has been removed with no explanation. If anyone knows why please let me know as I am hoping there is a very good reason behind removing the BEST icon set available for the Palm. Hoping this has nothing to do with the previous fiasco!

02/06/2002 Megasoft have released Callisto 3.1- updates include Sony Clie Hi-Res (320x320) support is added. Capability of revolving objects stop is added. Some slight errors are eliminated. Thanks to Cezarex more details

02/06/2002 Megasoft have been busy. They have just released MegaPuzzle 1.0- The aim of the game is to move the corresponding blocks in the position pointed out in the task (at the bottom of the screen) in less possible number of moves. The best result for each of the levels is fixed in the record table. more details
