18/03/2002 If you are after more information on Sony's new NR series here's a good place to start. It's the Japanese User Club's NR series link page which contains a lot of links to various pages that have detailed photos and specs of these new machines. It would be an idea to translate the page first as it's in Japanese- use the search tool to find the previous news article which detailed how to do this- keyword 'translate'. |

![]() Competition winners 17/03/2002 Well, what can I say. I'm overwhelmed by the amount of effort people have put into designing their logos. As you can see Bert Austin's logo now sits at the top of the site but he's not the only winner- Clark Fralick and George Birman's logos will be used throughout the site as the pages grow. Clark's will also be used on business cards and letterheads. Jason Goldman was also very impressed and has offered a copy of 300 Bowl to ALL of the people who took the time to produce their logos (what a nice bloke!). Thanks also to Joel Suplido for offering the Clie Source Icon Sets as prizes:- Prizes Bert Austin- 300 Bowl & Clie Source's 255-icon set Clark Fralick- 300 Bowl & Clie Source's 255-icon set George Birman- 300 Bowl Kai Kathe- 300 Bowl Joel Suplido- 300 Bowl Erik Telford- 300 Bowl Thomas McGill (aged 22 months)- lots of toys! One final thankyou to the people who took the time to change logos at my request. The LOGO entries are here. |
17/03/2002 The Clie Store should be up and running tomorrow and will include full details of all of the accessories available- supplies may be limited at the start (first come first served) but as the interest grows so will the inventory. Initially you will require a PayPal account to buy which is free to sign up for. |
17/03/2002 There's a very interesting post on Clie Source at the moment. Dieselman has managed to play ATRAC3 files on a standard blue memory stick- the result: same sound quality and 54 songs on a 128mb stick instead of 30!!! |
This Week's Competition 17/03/2002 This week's competition will also be news and design based- the prizes are MegaLauncher (thanks Arthur) and 300 Bowl (thanks Jason)- these are the entries I am looking for:- New design for the dividers between the daily news articles (needs to be small and perhaps just a monogram of 'Clie World')Icons- would be nice to have some 'small' icons in each article for Competition / News / Software / Clie Store / Reviews and the Forum- they would all have to be consistent and fit in well with the general design of the site- this is a big job! News articles Hints & tips (anyone solved the N7 series flip cover problem?)Reviews of hardware and software Basically- send in anything Clie related! |
16/03/2002 The news articles for the past 5 days have been archived- they can be located via the left panel- 10-15 March 2002. There are a total of 33 articles in this archive. In total the site now has well over 180 news articles |
16/03/2002 The competition winners will be announced tomorrow- sorry for the slight delay but the number of very good entries surprised me and I need to decide which one will fit in well on every single page on the site. I will be obtaining some extra prizes for this competition so hopefully I will be able to give away more than 2 prizes tomorrow. Here's the gallery of entries received so far.The next competition will also be announced tomorrow- if you want to start early I am looking for the following:- New design for the dividers between the daily news articles (just a purple bar at the moment) Button designs for the left and right hand columns (needs to have a blank area for easy insertion of section titles) News articles (software/hardware releases or anything Clie related such as UK availability) Hints & Tips (extra marks for sorting the N760/770 flip cover problem!) |

16/03/2002 I had a play with FlugLotse 0.9 today which is an Air Traffic Control simulation "Planes enter your area and your task is to guide them to their destinations." Worth a look for $5. |
16/03/2002 This weeks main competition prize, 300 Bowl, has been updated to version 1.0h which includes the following- Now runs on OS3.0 and above Pin Tweaks: Center hit now yields strike, instead of 7-10 split, and other slight tweaks to the pins here and there (the 7-10 is slightly easier to spare now only slightly easier, you still have to be a mighty special bowler to make it more than once in a blue moon.) You may now tap lower on the screen for the CONTINUE message. Available from Jason Goldman. |
