Ne historine e popujve te Evropes, veshtire se mund te gjendet ndonje popull qe te kete qene objekt i shtypjes nacionale siç ishte populli shqiptar, i cili jeton ne trojet e veta autoktone ne Kosove e gjetiu. Mjeti me drastik, perveç shtypjes, terrorit, dhunes, likuidimit fizik etj. ishte edhe spastrimi etnik i trojeve shqiptare dhe kolonizimi me elementin serb. Keshtu, Kosova, edhe pse truall etnik i shqiptareve, vazhdimisht u ballafaqua me pretendimet e pushtetit serb per kolonizim dhe keshtu me dhune te ndryshohet struktura e popullsise qe pastaj do te bente sllavizimin dhe shkrirjen graduale te popullit autokton shqiptar. Serbia gjate historise shfrytezoi te gjitha modelet e kolonizimit te trojeve shqiptare, e ne veçanti te Kosoves, e cila eshte edhe objekt trajtimi ne kete punim.

Kolonizimi i trojeve ne Kosove eshte nje proces, qe pikesynim kryesor i gjithe politikes dhe i makinerise ushtarake serbe e pastaj edhe jugosllave, ne te gjitha periudhat kohore, ka qene sllavizimi i Kosoves. Nderkaq, gjate historise jane verejtur edhe oshilime, here ngadalesim e here shpejtesim i hovshem te procesit kolonizues, gje qe varej nga rrethanat politike, ekonomike e shoqerore qe ishin te pranishme.
