SUB-COMMITTEE REPORT:-

A meeting took place between S.E.Division sub-committee and Owen Leyshon of the Romney Marsh Countryside Project. The meeting was held to discuss the future of access rights to Dungeness Beach. As Dungeness beach is home to a variety of wildlife and plants English Nature are keen to keep the shingle from being disturbed, the sub-committee suggested that maybe a wooden walkway be laid or some kind of pathway and notices be erected to encourage anglers and other visitors to use the path rather than walk on the shingle.Another suggestion was to have designated parking areas and more rubbish bins.Mr. Leyshon said that as some of the ground is private property he would talk to the owner. Mr Hills has since had a meeting with the Army and they have no intention of closing the Dengemarsh road but they also have no intention of keeping the road in good repair either.Shepway Council have been approached with regard to keeping it in safe repair for Emergency Vehicles.
