Minutes of meeting held at D.A.C. 1919 on Wednesday 23rd February 2000
A one minutes silence was observed in memory of Mr. JOHN RICHMOND a Life Vice President of the N.F.S.A. who recently passed away. PRESENT:- A.Yates, Chairman. J.D.Barrett, President. J.Rogers, Secretary. D.Simpson, V.Chairman. R.Page, W.D.A.S. J.Gardner, D.A.C. 1919. N.Clarke, T,Marsh, Wayzgoose. A.E.Chandler, B & St P. S.A.S. A.Hills, V.B.C. APOLOGIES:- S.Brittain. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING:- Read and agreed as a true record. Pro. J.Gardner Sec. R.Page MATTERS ARISING:- 1) Mr Tapp was invited to the meeting and an open invitation to be given. The procedures for arranging the key for the barrier at Dungeness are attached. CHAIRMANS REPORT:- The Pairs Knock-out final is to be fished on March 18th 7pm - 10-30pm at the Chequers Deal. The European and all England Competition has been cancelled and the organisers have been advised to contact the N.F.S.A. to see if they are covered under their insurance. PRESIDENTS REPORT:- The N.F.S.A. wreath for Mr Richmond was the shape of the N.F.S.A. flag and was scattered with his Ashes from the end of Deal Pier. The cost of the flowers was £70 which was paid for by the N.F.S.A. S.E. Division and the N.F.S.A. (head office) equally. TREASURERS REPORT:- Nett Balance £993.46 STANDING COMMITTEE REPORT:- Herne Bay Angling Association sought dispensation to use 2 rods, with a maximum of 3 hooks, for some beach competitions which were run for members only. Dispensation was granted. SECRETARYS REPORT:- First may I say a big thank-you for the beautiful bouquet of flowers that I received after my stay in hospital. CORRESPONDENCE:- 1) S.E.Divisional Boat Festival at Deal on Monday 29th May 2000 Contact J.Pressley 01227 366846 2) N.F.S.A. Millennium beach clean, is being held on Sunday April 16th please register as soon as possible. 3) N.F.S.A. Festival list 2000. 4) Birchington A.C. Open has been changed to SUNDAY 21ST MAY 2000 because of a clash of dates with Whitstable D.A.S. open. 5) Broadstairs and St Peters S.A.A. sent a letter informing the Division of the size limits they will be fishing to, also informing the division that they will be sending a delegate to divisional meetings. The Broadstairs and St Peters S.A.A. have a B.Y.O.B 3 day Festival on 4th ,5th & 6th November 2000. 6) We have been advised of 3 new club affiliations
7)Letter from Snodland Strikers A.C. informing us that they have disbanded and will not be affiliating to the N.F.S.A. this year. 8) Western Wight A.C. 3 day boat festival, details from Kev Basham Tel. 01983 403827. LEAGUE SECRETARYS REPORT:- Channel Angling Ultima & Deal Angling Club 1919 went through to the National Sea League Finals. Well done to both teams. A complaint was brought by B .Davies concerning the size of Dabs at the last league match . The matter was resolved on the night. A new five man league will start in October 2000. A new Kent Pairs Knock-out is starting in May .The cost will be £10 per pair Pro. J.Rogers Sec. J.Gardner The HOME team have 10 days to contact the AWAY team and arrange a date for the match to be fished, the HOME team must then notify the League Secretary of the match date. PLEASE READ THE RULES ATTACHED TO THE ENTRY FORM AS THERE HAVE BEEN SOME CHANGES. The first round draw will be at the MAY Divisional meeting. A.O.B.:- Nigel Clarke asked if it would be possible to hold a 3 man Summer League a discussion followed and J.Gardner & N.Clarke to look into Dates & Venues. A reduction in some of area G`S Specimen size limits is to be presented to the Standing Committee for approval. A letter notifying them of the changes is to be sent to the Essex Division.
