of Meeting held at Royal Marines Association Club, Deal on 4th December
2002

Read and agreed as a true record.

Matters Arising:
The chairman was asked how long Tony Libby would be considered Persona
Non Grata, after some discussion it was decided to make 2 proposals
at the AGM so that all clubs would have a say in the matter. The proposals
are as follows:-
1) Proposal that Tony Libby be made Persona Non Grata for Life.
2) Proposal that Tony Libby be made Persona Non Grata for 5 years
from the date that he was made Persona non Grata which was 14th July
1999.
Could all clubs send delegates to the AGM or contact the Divisional
secretary and give a proxy vote on this matter.
Presidents Report:
Madge Milner of Sport England and Simon Gardiner has stated that it
is compulsory for clubs to have their instructors for juniors and
vulnerable people vetted.
The N.F.S.A. is to hold 3 meetings for 2003 in London to hopefully
encourage more delegates to attend.
10th / 11th May 2003 - AGM
5th Feb 2003 - Standing Committee meeting.
8th October - Standing Committee meeting.
No specimen fish have been registered for the year ending 31st December
2002
Chairman's Report:
There was an incident at the end of Deal Pier after some club matches
were held on the Pier. The fish were weighed and then thrown on to
the beach also fish were gutted and the blood and some remains were
left outside of the Channel Angling Tackle shop. Can all clubs please,
if they must throw fish back, please do so ensuring that the fish
are actually thrown back into the water. Thank You.
Congratulations to all those anglers that have been selected to fish
for England in next years Championships.
Secretary's Report:
1) A letter from Alan Yates thanking the committee on their decision
to elect him as a Hon. Life Vice President.
2) A letter from the R.N.L.I. thanking the Division for their donation
of £310 which was raised at a Match organized on behalf of the
Division at Dungeness
3) On the matter of Child Protection a letter was received from David
Rowe stating that after consultation with Malcolm Hanson of the JAGB
National Child Protection Officer it seems that 'there is a legal
requirement for persons that have a significant contact with children
or vulnerable adults to be CRB checked and for clubs that do hold
events where significant contact is made should have a CP Policy'
