Easy access to fish the Point at Dungeness |

Easy access is now available for organised fishing groups or clubs to fish between the boats and the Point at Dungeness. Through the endeavours of Phil Tapp (Dungeness AA) and Tony Hills (Varne BC) it is now possible to drive your car along the concrete maintenance road to practically fish out of your car near the Point at Dungeness. Negotiations with and kind permission from Brian Banks (English Nature), Owen Leyshon (Romney Marsh Countryside Project) and Dungeness Estate have enable a procedure to be put in place to enable anglers to use the concrete road to access and park next to the beach at weekends. Anglers wanting to use this facility must obtain a key or combination lock number from one of the appointed key holders. These are:-
Clubs must book at least 1 month in advance or you have to become members of Dungeness Angling Association. This cost £1 per year and is available from Phil Tapp. Remember that this is a privilege given to anglers and that this privilege could be removed if you are not a responsible angler.
