Specimen Fish Competition The South Eastern Division of the NFSA runs its own Specimen Fish Competition each year. This runs from 1st January until 31st December. To enter the competition you must be a Personal Member of the NFSA or be a member of a club affiliated to the NFSA in the South Eastern Division. There are no entry fees to pay to enter this competition. To be eligible for a prize the fish being entered must of been caught within the South Eastern Divisions boundary. This runs from Gravesend around the coastline to and including Rye. For the Boat prizes the port of departure determines the location. There are prizes for the top two entries for shore caught fish and the top two entries for boat caught fish. The winning entries are determined by comparison to the specimen fish sizes use by the South Eastern Division. The fish with the greatest percentage comparison weight to the specimen fish size wins. For example a shore caught dab weighing 1 lb, which is 100% of its specimen size, would beat a shore caught sole weighing 2 lb, which is 80% of its specimen size. Within the South Eastern Division the coastline is divided into two different areas:-
Both these areas have their own Specimen fish sizes Click here to see the Specimen Fish sizes for Area G Click here to see the Specimen Fish sizes for Area I The fish you enter do not have to be as big as the specimen sizes, indeed the prizes have been won by fish smaller than these specimen sizes, so why not enter your fish today...as they say in the adverts....it could be you! You do not have to wait until the end of December to enter as any entries received will be held on record for entry into the competition. Enter your fish as soon as can and keep those entries coming in when you catch a better fish, because there are no restrictions on the number of fish you can enter. How to Enter Entries must be on the 2001 Specimen Fish Entry Form. This can be obtained from your Club secretary, who was sent a copy with the NFSA South Eastern Divisional Meeting Minutes. Alternatively if you click here you can see a copy which you can print off yourself. Get a Club Official to fill it in and then send it off to the address shown. GOOD LUCK...I may see you at the prize giving! |
