About Me: Simon Christie (MA Psych)

I have an enduring interest in health and wellbeing, along with a genuine interest in people, which has motivated me to promote positive change in individuals. I have received a Master of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of Aberdeen, and continue to attend personal development and change-oriented courses such as: NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), Hypnosis, Ericksonian Hypnosis, and Solution Focused Brief Therapies.

I have had the honour of training with and learning from Michael Yapko Ph.D., when I attended 'Up from Down: Hypnosis and the Treatment of Depressions'. Dr. Yapko is a clinical psychologist and marriage/family therapist practicing in San Diego, California. He is internationally recognized for his work in the active treatment of depression, the use of clinical hypnosis and his advancement of the use of outcome-focused, short-term psychotherapy. He has written many books and also penned the authoritative sections of Encyclopedia Britannica's Medical and Health Annuals on "Treating Depression," "Brief Therapy" and "Clinical Hypnosis."

I was also honoured to have the opportunity to attend a seminar about Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) by Jeffrey K. Zeig Ph.D. Dr. Zeig is the Founder, Director and President of the Board of Directors of the Milton H. Erickson Foundation. He has edited, co-edited, and authored many books and his work has been the subject of many more.His work is covers Ericksonian psychotherapy, hypnosis, brief therapy and eclectic psychotherapy. The above were intensive professional courses which have been of great benefit to me in my professional career. I aim to continue attending high quality courses and thus, continually improve the service I provide.

I remain passionate about assisting others to achieve balanced mental and physical health, and specialise in tailoring therapy to the individual.

I am a registered Hypnotherapist with the General Hypnotherapy Register and practice according to its code of ethics, terms and conditions. I am also an Associate Member of the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). I am also listed as one of the Neighbourhood Services through the Albyn Medical Practice in Aberdeen.
