DAVID MANNING
David Manning regularly appeared on Leicester Sound from 1992-95. After "stumbling" across this site, David has contacted me with information on where he has been, which I reproduce below.
"I was one of the swing-jocks working at the same time as Mike Cass etc working my way up from tea boy. First show was Christmas 1991. I also had regular weekend shows on Leicester Sound and Mercia when they joined forces. I left in 1995 just as Better Music Mix was coming in.
Where did I go? I went to work for Planet 95 in Modesto, California, USA (80's and beyond!) for 3 years presenting english hit music shows (the yanks love it), and then to Z95.7 (todays hit music) in San Francisco for 2 years. Station group was bought out, so decided it was time to come home. Not involved in radio now although still work with Paul Heatherley occasionally. Favourite memory of Leicester Sound was being one of the first jocks in the country to interview Eternal and having Louise sitting on my knee for 25 minutes! Always wanted to be like David Lloyd - superb broadcaster. Proudest moment: Never losing my English accent even though I worked in the USA for 5 years!
My thanks to David Manning for letting me know where he is now!
