We had all had a great weekend at Hope, as before Phil & Linda Wood who run the Poachers Arms laid on an excellent Sunday Carvery (£7 All you can eat, and some of them actually went back for more), although it was not actually sunny the weather was "fine" with dry roads (important as you will see later) until 4:00pm on Sunday which was good timing as we had just decided to pack-up and head home or to the bar.

We arranged the meet around Rob Hayden from the Australian Lexus Soarer Club (the ALSC founder actually) being in the country, Rob is mad keen (delete "KEEN"), on Soarers and managed to drive 7 of the 8 cars in attendance offering advice on geometry & handling setup's and general stuff like "your car drives like a bag of shit Bill", this was after he managed to ground my beautiful exhaust about a dozen times with some very spirited driving on some horrid roads (nice roads, poor surface).

I stayed sober enough on Sunday to drive a few cars, Richard's (Mongoose) 96 V8 with his latest revision of geometry is now "PERFECT", his better half Cathy even drove the first hundred odd miles as the car does not now exhibit any undue steering foibles on standard 16" rims.

Jeffs clean TT in the rare Silver Blue/Green colour (like Ian's) was the pick of the bunch, it lacks the f&r spoilers and still looks so good, I think we have convinced Jeff to get the spoilers fitted.

We meet some new faces this time,
Steve & Yvonne from Macclesfield (Green TT).
Barrie (Dark Blue V8) who's taking his car with him to the States as the US SC400 is "crap"!
Harry Hall (& Karen) possibly driving his red V8 for the last time, (don't sell it Harry give it to Karen).
Kevin & Christine (who is now my new best mate as he can drink 25 pints of Stella a night), Kevin's just recently bought his very clean 93 V8 for.... £4,700 what a bargain.

Nice to see Melvyn and his son Brook again, Brook is 23 and can't really afford a Soarer yet (insurance is the real issue) but he drives a fully worked Lancia Delta HF Integralli which he built himself.

Needless to say my old faithful was there (Ann came along as well) and my "new" gearbox is behaving properly.
