Great Northern Meet - Hope - August 2002 |
|
|
I think we set a new record for the Great Northern Meet, we took over The Poachers hotel with 13 Soarers, as usual no two the same. The day was fantastic, loads of cars, loads of nice people, good weather up till 3:30pm and an excellent lunch. Rob Hayden from the ALSC was over again (he gets to more Soarer meets in the UK than he does in Oz). Apologies if anyone is not included on the list as I left all this to my P.A. (Ann): Jeff Tate, Mongoose, Rob Hayden, Me (Bill Lewis), Glyn Watkins, Steve Smith, Mike Rea, Kevin Speight, Rob Hirst, Phil Bradbury, Hayley Myers (and some guy called Baz), Phil Tompkins, Paul Warren, Rob? (HGV TRAINING). Rob Hirst's silver kitted car was the undoubted star of the show and it's also bloody quick putting out around 350bhp @ 1bar boost with Apexi SAFC & AVCR controllers and modified fuel regulator. |

The sea of Soarers - this turned a few heads in Hope, people driving past just stopped to come in and get a better look. |

Phil Bradbury's 96 3.0Ltr
Running on LPG, that's the LPG gas tank but don't snigger coz it's half-price motoring, which soon pays for the £1,500 conversion doing 700miles a week. |

Hayley & Baz
Hayley is a fifteen year old Petrol Head, pictured here on a track day with an F50, her and dad Baz are buggering of to the USA, best of luck to you both. |

The overnighters - we went up on Sat night to get in the "spirit", as you can see we managed to get well into the spirit of things, got to bed at 4:00am after Phil (boss of The Poachers) cracked open a bottle of 12yr malt just to round off the evening. |
