TT Servicing:
|
Although a very complex car the Soarer TT is relatively
easy to maintain and most of the normal service items can be tackled by a
competent engineer. The service schedules vary around the world but as the
UK is hardly considered Hot & Dusty then I consider 5,000ml intervals to
be fine for the engine oil & filter (5,000Klm for dusty climates).
Lexus have A, B, C, service routines and are carried out in A, B, A, C, rotation, I prefer to rotate my service A, C, A, C, because my car gets hammered and the all fluids change on the C service keeps everything running smooth and I am paranoid about having another gearbox failure. Some points to bear in mind, the TT needs fully synthetic engine oil, this will help to preserve the turbo's, Toyota Type 4 fluid should be used in the automatic gearbox, make sure your cam belt has been changed at 60,000mls intervals, if your not sure get it done anyway as a head/valve strip is expensive and a damaged head will cost thousands to replace. Powerhouse do all my servicing and let me in their workshop to take photo's and make notes on various items, I also get to make tea which brings back memories of being a spotty 15yr old apprentice mechanic. |
