Why "Sojourner"?... for he looked for a city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.There are many of us today who are walking in footsteps which are thousands of years old. We follow Abraham and Moses, Paul and Peter, John Calvin and John Knox, through a foreign land in which we are only pilgrims and strangers. We are looking for a better land, a land of promise, a land of peace, a land in which Jesus is King indeed.It is through Jesus that we began this journey. Through Him we have found forgiveness for our sins, making life on the journey palatable; and through Him we have the promise of a life which is not burdened with sin -- ours or anyone else's. Through Him we are enabled to live this life, and live with the promise that even death will not end life. Thus, I am a sojourner, walking through this life, following Jesus as my Saviour and Lord. I endeavour to live this life to His honour and glory, and look forward to the day when I will be like Him, because I will see Him face to face.
