General Information

We take names and addresses of everybody who buys an animal from us, for reference. Here is some information on the kittens currently available and litters planned. We also have some detailed information about our animals available.
We do not cull, and most of our litters come with pedigrees. Health and temperment are our main priorities, colour and markings come last. We ask that you join one of the three main UK rat clubs before buying a rat from us - the NFRS, NRC or LSCRMC.

We normally have the parents of our litters available for you to meet, and there may also be other relatives to see, so you can check the temperment and health of the line. Pedigree sheets available on request (please ask when booking your kitten). We will also provide care information if this is your first rat - but if there are no other rats in your house we will only sell same-sex pairs.
We show our animals at most NRC and occasional NFRS shows, and we ask that you consider showing our animals after you adopt them - not just the standard colours but also the non-standard types. Showing the non-standard types helps us with the aim of standardisation, and any show results from the standard colours will help us check on the show quality of our offspring.

Animals Available

• Hawthorn To-Leigh and Hawthorn Hayn: These two boys were born on March 31st 2000, and are a topaz hooded and an agouti hooded. They were bred here, but taken back, as their new home proved unsuitable. Both are tame, friendly, and healthy, and looking for a new home. I would prefer them to stay as a pair, as they are bonded to each other. An adoption fee of £10 is asked for this pair. Both have excellent temperments, and To-Leigh is the obvious leader of the pair.

• Two rescue bucks: Snorbitz and Diablo: These two brothers, a champagne hooded and a champagne berkshire, are both about six months old. They have been kept in a hamster cage for most of their life, and not handled. They both have good temperments, and are just desperate for attention. Prefer them to go as a pair, as they have been together all their life, and are close. The adoption fee for this pair is £10, to cover the costs of keeping them, and to make sure of a good home.

Litters Expected / For Reservation

• Charvo x Hawthorn Guiness: This is a backcross litter. Charvo is a cinnamon self doe, and Guiness is a silver black self buck, from Charvo and Marco (buff Irish buck). I have 13 kittens in this litter, born 31/08/00. Their probable colours are given here, but it'll be a while til I know for sure:
  • 4 bucks: silver black or agouti
  • 1 buck: mink, cinnamon, havana, or havana agouti
  • 4 does: silver black or agouti
  • 3 does: mink, cinnamon, havana or havana agouti
  • 1 doe: havana, havana agouti
  
  All kittens carry or express mink, and have a chance to carry red eye dilute. This litter comes with a full pedigree.

• Hawthorn Fraggle x Xanthus: Fraggle is a himalayan self , from Pete (siamese) and Mouse (blue self). Xanthus is a blue self buck from siamese x silver blue self. Both parents are of good type and temperment. We have 15 kittens, and the colours should be:
  • silver black self
  • blue self
  • seal point himalayan
  • blue point himalayan
  • seal point siamese
  • blue point siamese
  
  This is an outcross litter, with a full pedigree available. Both parents have done well at shows, as have all four grandparents!

• Binky x Flossy: Binky is a headspotted black roan husky/turpin. His mate will be Flossy, a mink self doe. Until this litter is bred, we have no idea on what the kittens will be! The probable outcome is:
  • Black irish mismarks
  • Black Berkshire mismarks
  
  All kittens will carry husky and mink. No pedigree available. This is an outcross litter.

• Xanthus x Olivia: Olivia is a blue agouti self doe, and Xanthus of course is our blue stud. Olivia is owned by a friend, and if you are looking for blue or blue agouti kittens, please contact me and I will pass your details on to her. We are expecting:
