DERBY

Derby Cathedral from Irongate

Our regular meeting venue is the Law Lecture Theatre at the University of Derby's main campus site at Kedleston Road. This is just off the A38 Derby Ring Road.

The Kedleston Road campus is easily reached by car (directions are shown below).

An excellent bus service links Derby City Centre with the Kedleston Road Main Campus. The Trent/Barton service "The Allestree" leaves every few minutes during the day from Full Street Stop X5. (This is opposite the Assembly Rooms Multi-Storey Car Park, near to the Old Police Station). 

The bus stops just across the road from the main University entrance. If you're not sure where to get off, please ask the driver for assistance.

Buses on the return leg to Derby City Centre also stop at the University's main entrance gate.

At the University, go straight up the main drive to the top of the hill.  Visitors' Car Parks are on the right hand side.   There are no parking charges.

Park up and make your way to the Atrium (Main Reception).  

Cash Machines are available here, as well as refreshments (vending machines only on a Saturday). SSAE Members tend to meet here in the Atrium before going into the nearby lecture room.

Our Lecture Room will be clearly signed from the Atrium.

 

 

MAPS & DIRECTIONS FOR ARRIVING AT THE UNIVERSITY BY CAR

FROM THE EAST (e.g. Nottingham)

At the end of the A52, continue straight on at the roundabout - signed 'City Centre'.
Then follow signs for the A6 - 'Matlock'.
When you enter the one-way system, keep left following the signs for 'Quarndon' and 'Allestree'.
The University is three quarters of a mile, on the right.

FROM THE NORTH (e.g. Chesterfield)

From the M1 Junction 28 take the A38 South, signposted 'Derby'.
Continue until you reach a major roundabout, continue along the A38, signed 'Matlock', 'Ashbourne', 'Uttoxeter' (Outer Ring Road).
Proceed to the next roundabout, passing the University towers on your right - go all the way around the roundabout returning North on the A38. The first exit is signposted 'University'.
Turn left at the top of the slip road onto Kedleston Road, the entrance to the University is then on your right.

FROM THE SOUTH (e.g. Leicester)

From the M1 Junction 24 take the A50 signposted 'Stoke-on-Trent'.
Leave A50 at Junction 4 and head North - A38, 'Derby'.
The University will be clearly signed left off the A38, after the A52 roundabout.

FROM THE WEST (e.g. Birmingham)

Join A38 at Junction 4.
The University will be clearly signed left off the A38, after the A52 roundabout.
