Our regular meeting venue is the New Mechanics, situated on North Sherwood Street in the City Centre, across the road from the Central Fire Station.

The Victoria Bus Station is 5 minutes' walk away, whilst the nearest NET Tram stops ('Royal Centre' and 'Nottingham Trent University') are both about 3-4 minutes' walk.

If arriving by train at Nottingham Station, it is a 15 minutes' walk through the City Centre or a short tram ride from the Station Street terminus. Again, tram passengers should alight at either 'Royal Centre' or 'NTU'.

As parking can be difficult in the City Centre (especially on Saturdays), we do recommend that visitors arriving by car should use one of the Park & Ride facilities. The Phoenix Park or Forest Park & Ride sites are the most convenient from the M1 motorway, being a short tram ride to the Royal Centre or NTU stops.

For those who do need to park nearer the venue, car parking is available in the Victoria Centre and the Royal Centre multi-storeys. There is no car parking at the Mechanics itself and local streets are very heavily used for residents' parking.

There is a restaurant at the Mechanics, offering a range of hot and cold meals, together with a licensed bar.

All Facilities are open to SSAE members and guests on Society lecture days.
