Common Striders send your Webmaster more contributions for our site.
What's happened to our Coach's promise of providing personal timings and training schedules?    Where are the contributions from the lady Striders?....
these are the questions everyone's' asking - well the ones I am anyway!

Whats new on the Website ?

See Photo Gallery - from the History Page;  there are some great photos from the 2001 Crags Race and from Gala Day.  Oh and make sure you see the pic of John in the dashing headgear.

May 2001 - Troon Tortoise 10k & Fort William Marathon times plus "odds & sods" mostly in the History & archives Page

Alloa Half Marathon 25/3/2001: good turn out from Striders and good times too - see History & Archives pages for winners and losers - “it’s all relative”. Well Tom and Irene and Steve and Hillary are anyway.

The club coach, John MacGillivray, has given input for the Coaching Page. John intends to develop this section in a variety of ways. Training schedules, coaching advice, progress statistics (that could be embarrassing - ed) and other goodies are in the pipeline.

The History & Archives Page has a smashing old photo of a Gala Day from the past featuring local celeb Adam Law and two of our better looking Striders (no, I’m not referring to Eric Rice & Ian Trail).  The Archive section is well under way (see History Page) now - a couple of recent articles to start with.

Oh, and as you’ll have noticed on the Home Page we have a pic of the guys having a pint after the Wednesday evening training session. Also (down below) a wee counter to say how many visitors we’ve had.

On Links Page, new links to Scottish Hill Running and a couple of interesting sites telling us all about Strathaven history and amenities.  There are links to some really useful Websites where runners can get all kinds of  information ranging from forthcoming running events; cancelled races due to foot and mouth; and shoe and equipment reviews. Not to mention advice on training schedules (.....oh I just did) for beginner and expert alike . Just click on Links - then surf away !

Contact Page tell folk when our training nights are and where we meet - “Spring is here” - join us; have a “de-coke”; run of that Winter stodge.

We’re thinking of having a jokes section on the Website...they have to be clean obviously. If anybody has any good jokes - fire them in................... Eric & Dave should not respond to this request.   We've had all the stories we can take about "Hen Gliding", "Budgie Jumping" and "Parrot Sailing" !
