ship-wreck near Nelson

a couple of photos taken on Rabbit Island. The beach was a couple of miles long (if not more) and almost completely deserted - awesome!

heading from Nelson to Abel Tasman

three photos taken on a tramp around the top end of the Abel Tasman track. Yet more awesome beaches - this time the nearest (unpaved) roads were 3 or 4 miles away so even more deserted than on Rabbit Island. The last photo (with Golden Bay in the middle left) was mainly taken because I had to take one at the highest point of the inland bit of our walk - being ill-prepared as always we ran out of water before this 2000 foot or so climb - not ideal when it was about 80F! So I had to get something for our efforts!

two photos heading down the west coast towards the glaciers. The second one is of the Pancake Rocks and Blow-holes at Punakaiki. Shame the guide book forgot to mention that this was only worth stopping at if the tide was high and there was a huge swell due to approaching bad weather! (No comments about me grumbling about us having good weather allowed!)
