Working north to south on the North Island....

First, the Bay of Islands. We stayed in Paihia from where the first photo was taken at sunrise and the 2nd photo was taken on a boat cruise around the islands. The third photo was taken in Waitangi National Reserve, where the Maoris and British signed a treaty in 1840. The photo was taken near the Treaty House. The fourth photo is of the mango swamp we walked through on the same Reserve.

A few views from around Auckland. The first two are of the skytower - I guess I took the picture with the car on the roof of a shop on purpose - I don't remember it being there though! The final three photos are from the top of the skytower looking down on Auckland harbour. The Americas Cup was on and the last two photos are of the Italian and NZ yachts. Unfortunately they weren't racing the day we were there - just not windy enough!

Now onto the Tongariro National Park in the middle of the North Island. The first two photos are of the volcanoes to the south of Lake Taupo, whilst photos 3 and 4 are of the views of the lake itself. The 4th one is taken from the promenade in the town of Taupo in fact. The final photo is of Lake Rotopounamu which is about 5 miles south of Lake Taupo and took about 90 minutes to walk around.

Finally, onto Wellington where we stayed with Mike Revell. Mike took us on a tour of the city and took us up to a viewpoint from where I took the first two photos - they're actually the same one but cropped differently. The final photo was as we left Wellington on the way over to Picton on the South Island.
