Coyotes

I saw 4 different coyotes.

The first was down at Fishing Bridge where a lone one was hard to photograph as it stayed in the trees.

Below are photos from the other three encounters.

I also saw a couple of wolves - only through someone's spotter scope though as they were a couple of miles away on the far side of the Lamar valley - photos of wolves will have to wait until next time!!

This and the photo to the right are the best two from when I saw this lone coyote by the side of the road in the Lamar Valley at sunrise. Watched (and took photos!) for about 30 minutes - best bit was that there was only me to "disturb" it.

This is my favourite - hand held from the driving seat! As it was around sunrise it was still quite dark - hence this was a 1/50sec exposure and used the ISO3200 film speed setting!!
Onto Grand Teton National Park. This was on 2nd morning I was there - the coyote was about 40 yards from the roadside on the main road up to Moose Junction. This was the best "action" pose as breakfast is obviously about to be eaten - just a shame it was the most blurred of the photos I took of this coyote.

The final morning in Grand Teton at the famous photographic viewpoint - Oxbow Bend. A small pack of coyotes were howling as the sun rose - and then 15 minutes later came down to the far lakeside - so this one was about 100 yards away.
