Yes, this was a tough hike over virgin terrain!			At times it was really hard to spot the route!

Day 2 - damp cold and spooky			and not much better looking the other way!
finally the mist started to clear at 1130 - view here of the Hidden Lake			furthest visible point - the top of the Mackinnon Pass
and again			one misty cobweb
many misty cobwebs!			can't remember if this was the Mirror Lake or not - looks like it was though!
only one of a Kea for this trip - 2000 was a better vintage!			Mintaro hut was at the base of the Mackinnon Pass - here's a view of it as I pressed on to the top of the pass - the weather was good but the forecast for the following day was not.
At the top of the pass the Mackinnon Memorial - he found the route basically.			anda view looking back down the Clinton valley - so back the way we came. This was with a usual 35mm wideangle lens.

Starry view back at Mintaro Hut
Day 3 - 40mm of rain so not many photos! This is the Sutherland Falls - 580m high - and one of the many impressive ones cascading that day			End of day 3 at Dumpling Hut - the hills were alive with waterfalls!
Final day - the Mackay Falls			and Jo, Dee, Jonathan and yours truly "posing" inside Bell Rock
