Funding "Tactile art has opened up a new way of looking at the world when a window was beginning to close." As a newly constituted organisation, Art Through Touch has made great progress pushing forward projects and identifying new ways in which people with visual impairment can participate more fully in the arts. On the strength of our work we have been awarded funding, including a grant from the National Lottery's 'Awards for All' scheme. This has enabled us to produce a series of ART TALKS for 2003-4. We have commissioned artists and others involved in the art world to present and discuss their ideas. In 2002, we were awarded funding from Action for Blind People and Guide Dogs for the Blind Association to put on a series of linked activities called the Fired Up Project. Opportunities are limited for visually impaired people to engage in art activities, so we would be very grateful if you could kindly make any kind of donation. Any contribution, however small, would be greatly appreciated. If you need any further information please do not hesitate to contact Art Through Touch at the address and telephone number on our Home page. We would be more than happy to give a presentation of our organisations' work and achievements. |
