English Apples - Croft Pippin

Attractive dual purpose apple found in a private garden in Croft, Leics. Original tree still standing. This is less acidic than a Bramley, contains virtually no vitamin C, is a deeper red; shiny skin, OK as a dessert apple from about October; hangs till late Oct or early Nov but attracts birds because of its bright colour. Round-conical in shape. Very regular, heavy cropper.
