Great Gable to Beck Head
Sunday October 30th 1988
Initially the descent of the west side of Great Gable is very steep; more of a mild scramble. When the gradient eases and the boulder field is left behind the path is very eroded, and care must still be taken. The best bit of this descent is to see the expressions on the faces of those ascending, as they gaze anxiously upwards. "Not far now", you say to them, trying to keep a straight face.
