| The path climbs up from the ruins of the old drum house and contours across the slopes of Grey Knotts and Brandreth. From here one can look down the length of Ennerdale, with Pillar in the foreground. (Many people mistake Pillar for Gable in the early stages of this walk, Gable being hidden behind Brandreth). Half way up the picture, on the extreme right, you can just see Anglers Crag jutting out into the lake. |
