Jerry with Sheep near Grange
Monday October 31st 1988
We had parked the car in the Bowder Stone car park and walked down to the river near Grange. There were several sheep there, all except one of which ran away. We discovered it was tangled in some barbed wire, which was so deeply entwined in its fleece that we were unable to free it. Jerry held it to stop it struggling while Mark went to find the farmer. Eventually it was taken away in his Landrover, but it took some time, and delayed our walk so that it was getting dark as we finally came back down from High Scawdell to Grange.
